On Our Way to Monterey!!!

So... after jumping out of the shower to put the fire out (don't ask), dressing in our warmest attire, downing the coffee and pulling up the fenders, we were off! Destination: Monterey. The SF buoy wave app showed the waves past the Golden Gate topping 3 feet at 12 sec, so we expected a calm and pleasant ride. However, the SF buoy has been officially renamed the BS buoy- total chop, like washing machine chop, that knocks your teeth around, made the first 5 hours A REALLY FUN EXPERIENCE!!! (keep eyes on the horizon, keep eyes on the horizon...) But schooner or later, the waves died down and we had a swell of a ride into beautiful Monterey.
So long, sweet Oakland, and all of your totally cool Star Wars cranes.

Farewell, Golden Beauty and the city you decorate. We leave our hearts but take our bikinis with us...

1st Mate Emily takes over the helm....

while Captain B braves the ocean swell and makes BLTs as the galley rocks and rolls.

We made a few friends along the way

but the scenery was pretty much THIS most of the eight hour day.

Until wa-lah!! The fog breaks, land appears, and Monterey is upon us!

Sea Lion Hotel #4 with the Aquarium in the distance.

So... these are our neighbors at the guest dock for the night. Ok. Will they settle down a bit if we invite them over for a glass of wine and ...anchovies?

This looked really sweet, but on second glance not totally sure what is going on with the one underneath...

Beautiful little gems of marine life lining the dock.

Captain B (from which he will now be referred) surrounded by the scent of BBQ salmon depicted visually by the halo.

Photo of Monterey Bay taken while the !st Mate awaits BBQ salmon.

Killing more time while salmon is being prepared...

Dinnertime! To-morrow we'll be on our way To- Morro Bay!
???   What lies at the bottom of the ocean and twitches?       a nervous wreck
